Bank Limit

Bank Limit was one of the first anti-gravity racing games for the Oculus Rift. The game combines the action of games lie F-Zero with the thrill of a rollercoaster. I designed the brand identity and user interface for the game.

Logo

The logo is inspired by the graphic design of retro video games and Formula 1. The icon is a stylized loop-de-loop with a stylized theta in the center, which is the symbol for the bank angle of a track or road.

Gauges

The gauges were inspired by the instrument clusters in the original Ford Mustang. Each gauge provides multiple types of relevant information to the player. Color changes instantly notify the player of a change in data without them having to look directly at the gauge.

Animation

Animations are smooth and snappy, and even minute details such as the background grid react to track conditions.

Website

I used the idea of the anti-gravity racetrack and used it to create a unique navigation and header image. It was a challenge working with the angled text and imagery, but I was pretty pleased with how the website ultimately turned out.

Colors

The colors are bold and fast. The black and white are naturally taken from a finish line flag. The red represents speed and victory, while the radioactive blue glow reflects the anti-gravity aspect of the game.

Fonts

The title font was custom designed for the game. Industry Inline was used for the vehicle's heads-up display.
